Paul Sharman
Head Coach
Head Coach Paul Sharman is a Silver Licence coach and has been teaching and coaching swimming for over 25 years. He started his career as a Learn to Swim teacher and quickly progressed to coaching junior squads. In his time as Head Coach, he has developed countless NSW Country and State Champions, as well as numerous National Age medallists.
Paul was chosen as part of the Coaching staff for the Commonwealth Youth Games in India in 2008, as well as coaching positions on the Trans-Tasman, Youth Olympics, and Oceania Games Teams.
In 2010 Paul was awarded the NSW Age Group Coach of the year award for his club’s performance at the state championships. More recently, Paul has coached Paralympian Maddison Elliot to Commonwealth and Paralympic Games gold medals and World Records, and was awarded the Australian Paralympic Program Coach of the year in 2015.
Paul’s coaching philosophy is to coach the person, not the athlete. Long Term Athlete Development is his aim to make our members fall in love with the sport of swimming and become swimmers for life.
