About Our Club

NUSwim Swimming Club has been established since 2002 and is a dynamic and inclusive club dedicated to fostering a love for swimming at all levels. Whether you’re a competitive swimmer aiming for personal bests or a newcomer looking to develop your skills, we provide a supportive and professional environment to help you achieve your goals.

The club is based at the Newcastle University’s Forum Sports and Aquatic Centre, which includes the region’s only 50m indoor heated pool. This ensures maximum comfort and enjoyment for the entire year.

Our club is affiliated with Swimming NSW and offers structured training programs led by experienced coaches who are committed to athlete development. We actively participate in local, state, and national competitions, while also promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.

At NUSwim, we pride ourselves on our strong community spirit. We welcome swimmers of all ages and abilities, along with their families, to be part of a club that values excellence, encouragement, and enjoyment in the sport.

In the short history of the NUSwim club we can proudly boast many Australian, State and Country medallists, as well as top ten finishers at Country, State and National level. Just as importantly we can also boast that we fully support all levels of swimming ability, not just the highest level, with our Friday club night program providing events for beginners through to the serious competitor. The main aim of the club night program is to encourage swimmers of all ages and standards, to enjoy a fun social night with BBQ facilities, whilst improving their times.

NUSwim has a strong reputation as a club, and endeavours to foster a happy and balanced approach to the swimmer and their swimming development. Swimming promotes life skills such as positive self esteem, time management, commitment, self reliance and respect for others.
